Victorian Clinical Genetics Services (VCGS) is a not-for-profit subsidiary of the Murdoch Children's Research Institute and provides a wholly integrated genetic testing, diagnostic and counselling service for health professionals, patients and their families across Victoria, Australia and globally.

The Opportunity at VCGS:

We are seeking a passionate Integration Lead to provide expertise in leading, developing and maintaining various integration services and workflows supporting service delivery. You will be responsible for the successful delivery of integration projects and routinely report progress to the leadership team.

The Integration Lead will play a key part in the delivery of new integration services and workflows to integrate state of the art biobanking robotics and laboratory equipment with software systems. You will become familiar with the robotics, equipment and software integration capabilities and liaise with vendors for any required integration enhancements and modifications. Where integration capabilities are not provided by the vendor, new RESTful API are developed to create integration opportunities.

To be successful in this role you be a key contributor of the team’s day-to-day processes and rituals. You will actively mentor more junior members of the team, regarding technical integration skills. You will possess excellent interpersonal skills and be confident communicating with team members, the Lead of the Unit and the heads of the business units to ensure a full understanding of the operational, strategic and management context and consequences of the decisions associated with software development projects.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Leading integration projects and routinely report on progress.
  • Discovering integration requirements and develop integration implementation plans.
  • Designing integration services and workflows.
  • Collaborating with all stakeholders of the integration services.
  • Liaising with software and hardware vendors regarding integration capabilities and requirements.

About You:

  • A tertiary qualification in BA / Honours / master’s in computer science, software engineering, information technology or related discipline.
  • An appropriate level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training, or professional accreditation.
  • Experience leading complex integration projects.
  • Extensive experience developing and maintaining integration services and workflows.
  • Extensive experience querying, building, and maintaining RESTful APIs.
