We are a secular, not for profit organisation committed to access, inclusion, diversity and intersectionality. We have a team of diverse professionals working part-time and with flexible, hybrid work conditions. This position is required to work at the Parramatta office 4-5x per month, at 1-2x per month at the Bankstown office, and to visit different parts of Sydney to do presentations.

We are looking for an experienced project officer who can manage the Zero Barriers/ZB program (to build the capacity of businesses and services to be more inclusive) and the Multicultural Aged Care & Referral Services/MARS (capacity building CaLD older people to access My Aged Care).

We pay slightly above SCHADS Award Grade 4 and provide many benefits. P/t contract until 30 June 2025 with a possibility of contract renewal from year to year.

Essential Criteria

  • Appropriate Tertiary qualifications such as a Degree in Community Services or Social Work and/or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated sound project management experience
  • Good understanding of inclusion and access issues affecting disadvantaged community members including those from diverse, intersectional backgrounds
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills including but are not limited to: formal reports, grant applications, presentation, training and facilitating workshops and information sessions/stalls
  • Demonstrated ability to network, liaise, manage, and develop healthy, collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritise competing demands, and work independently and as part of a team.
  • Technological skills using internet, email, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software, conduct virtual and/or hybrid meetings on various platforms and apps.
  • Understanding and commitment to Social Justice and Access & Equity principles, Work & Safety and Ethical Working Practices

Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge/experience working in SW Sydney and Western Sydney or similar demographics
  • community development, grant writing, training delivery
  • Come from an organisation with a continuous improvement culture
