Multicultural Care is a non-government, not for profit organisation that specialises in providing home care services to frail-aged people and people with disabilities and their carers from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Reporting to the Team Leader of the Individualised Services Team, your role will be responsible for co-ordinating and growing Multicultural Care's NDIS program. You will be responsible for actioning referrals, liaising with NDIS participants and plan managers while co-ordinating the delivery of NDIS support. Your role will include:

  • Ensuring participants receive support that is appropriate to their individual interests, goals, capabilities and support needs.
  • Ensuring services are developed and delivered in line with funding body requirements, participants budget and support plans, and that support and services are delivered efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensuring financial records for all participants are processed within specified timeframes including claims processing and budget updating in line with participant requests.
  • Supervision and support of bilingual support staff (BSS)
  • Ensuring BSS understand and follow client care plans

This is a crucial role involving excellent interpersonal and organisation skills, and with a need for a genuine commitment to providing high quality, person centred disability support. To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Co-ordination experience in disability services, preferably in the area of training and/or skills development
  • Diploma Level qualification in Aged, Disability or Community Care, Case Management or related field, and/or experience in a similar capacity
  • Demonstrated understanding of needs and issues of people with a disability from CALD backgrounds and their carers
  • Strong track record on project management and/or establishing new services
  • Strong experience in community engagement and relationship building
  • A genuine passion for providing high quality, person-centred programs
  • Ability to lead and support a team of staff
  • A good understanding of work health & safety in home and community settings
  • High level organisation and effective time management skills
  • Ability to self motivate and take initiative
  • Ability to speak a relevant second language
  • Current motor vehicle driver's licence, a safe driving record and access to own vehicle

Please note the successful candidate will be required to produce a satisfactory National Police Certificate within 6 months of date of issue prior to commencement of employment. The successful candidate will also be required to provide a current Working with Children Check on commencement of employment.
