Multicultural Care is a non-government, not for profit organisation that specialises in providing home care services to frail-aged people and people with disabilities and their carers from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Our Centre-Based Day Respite (Day Centres) promote physical and psychological wellness for frail aged clients in a safe client-centred environment. The Respite & CHSP Care Coordinator is required to focus on developing activities and supporting the staff delivering services in our Day Centres in Sydney. The position also has a portfolio of CHSP clients that involves organising and co-ordinating the work of our Bilingual Support Staff in delivering home care services to our clients.

Reporting to the Team Leader of the Grant Funded Services Team, your role will involve:

  • Day Centre Coordination including developing and implementing an engaging leisure and lifestyle program, co-ordinating activities and conducting thorough client risk assessments.
  • Respite Centre Staffing including ensuring staff follow procedures and provide high quality services with appropriate activities.
  • Managing a Portfolio of CHSP Clients ensuring clients receive high quality service and staff are supported appropriately to follow correct procedure
  • Team Monitoring and Development including ensuring staff meetings are held regularly and staff skills and training are assessed and reported on regularly

This is a crucial role involving excellent communication, strong customer service and excellent time management skills. To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Certificate IV in Aged Care, Health & Leisure, or equivalent qualification
  • A genuine passion for providing high quality, person centred programs
  • High level organisation and effective time management skills
  • Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
  • Excellent administrative and technological skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent reporting and analytical skills
  • Current motor vehicle driver's licence, a safe driving record and access to own vehicle

Ideally (although not essential), you will also have:

  • Experience co-ordinating Centre-Based Respite Day Centres for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse clients
  • Experience supporting volunteers and volunteer programs
  • Ability to speak a second language

Please note the successful candidate will be required to produce a satisfactory National Police Certificate within 6 months of date of issue prior to commencement of employment.
