The opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available to join our Transitions to Work Program within our Employment Services division, based in our Parramatta site. The Transition to Work program focuses on pre-employment support to improve work readiness of young people aged 15 – 24, that are at risk of long-term unemployment. The Transition to Work service has a strong focus on practical intervention and work experience to build a young person’s skills, confidence and readiness to engage in employment.

Reporting to the Regional Coordinator you will:

  • Facilitate training and workshops on employability and attitudinal training
  • Assess/support external training opportunities that provide set pathways to employment
  • Engage young people in activities that lead to employment and education outcomes
  • Support young people through individualised career planning, mentoring to the attainment of employment or engagement of pre-employment pathways such as vocational training
  • Build relationships with employers and community networks to facilitate sustainable outcomes

About you

The ideal applicant we are seeking will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in employment services or youth services
  • Experience facilitating engaging workshops, training or group programs
  • Proven understanding of issues facing young people at risk
  • Ability to easily build rapport with disengaged young people, develop relationships and facilitate shift to commitment in education or employment
  • Achievement focused with proven experience meeting outcomes and KPIs
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Services/ Psychology/ Social Services or related discipline or sector experience
  • A current clean and valid driver's license
