Background

The mSupply Foundation makes mSupply, a pharmaceutical supply chain software that is used in more than 30 countries around the world. The mSupply Foundation has a 5 year agreement with MFAT (New Zealand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade) to provide installation, training and support to 6 countries in the Pacific.

This includes the development of the Indo-Pacific Health & Supply Chain Data & Technical Assistance Centre (DTAC), which supports member countries in setting, meeting and surpassing minimum regional standards in essential medicines access, health supply chains and digital health systems.

The consultant would work with these countries about 50% of the time, and the remaining time would be spent on other mSupply-related activities.

Role

Working closely with the DTAC lead:

  • Provide training and consulting to the countries using mSupply and other related software (including but not limited to DHIS2 and Tupaia)
  • Produce training materials
  • Keep website updated with news and training materials
  • Keep other social media channels active (mSupply Facebook group, Twitter etc.)
  • Organisation of regional training activities
  • Project management of in-country mSupply support teams
  • Liaising with customers and our development manager about feature requests and with our support team to ensure support issues for the Pacific are well responded to
  • Triaging and responding to specific country requests for support
  • Writing reports to donors as part of our grant requirements

Skills

  • High level of general computer proficiency
  • Personable and enjoys working in training situations with small groups or one-on-one
  • High level of skill with spreadsheets, and simple data manipulation (there’s a test!)
  • High level of writing skill for publicly accessible documents
  • Highly proficient in project management
  • Attention to detail

Qualifications & Experience

  • A health background is a strong advantage
  • Pharmacy degree or equivalent tertiary qualifications in Health Logistics or International Public Health
  • Current pharmacy or health professional registration in New Zealand or Australia is preferable but not essential
  • Experience working, volunteering or living in developing countries is highly preferred
  • Experience in health supply chain or eHealth implementation and training is highly preferred

Position Requirements

  • Based in head office in Auckland, New Zealand
  • Must be willing and able to travel overseas for generally up to 3 weeks at a time, but longer by mutual agreement
  • Travel to developing countries, sometimes to remote areas, should be expected for up to 50% of the role (though this will vary from year-to-year)
