We currently have two Program Officer opportunities available within the following programs:

Youth Wellbeing

This role will support the development and monitoring of a range of commissioned activities related to children and young people. A focus will be supporting the commissioning and contract management of the local Enhancing Mental Health Supports in Secondary Schools (EMHSS) program, Youth Enhanced services and the broader youth mental health network within North Western Melbourne.

Children and Families

This role will support the development and monitoring of a range of commissioned activities related to children and families. They will play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of the PHNs strategy to improve the health of children and families in our catchment.

A typical day for a Program Officer would involve:

  • Contract management of commissioned services including relationship and performance management, supporting quality improvement activities, project administration and data management, compliance reporting
  • Commissioning sustainable services that are coordinated, accessible and person-centred and evidence-based (For more information about commissioning, see our website)
  • Working with service providers to ensure effective monitoring and evaluation strategies that drive efficiency, effectiveness and quality, and that contribute to the evidence base are in place
  • Developing a range of plans, reports and other documents to support the work and meet reporting requirements of the organisation and other funders

We are looking for people who have:

  • Demonstrated skills in contract management, including the development of reports, project plans, and the implementation of monitoring and evaluation arrangements
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to pick up systems quickly and demonstrated organisational skills with documentation / forward planning
  • Tertiary qualification in health, social sciences or related studies and/or relevant ‘on the job'/ professional skills and expertise
  • Wanting to play a part in improving health outcomes for people in North Western Melbourne community
