The Program Officer, Workforce Development sits within our Primary Health Care Improvement team and plays a key role in implementing a new, innovative and effective education program for the primary health care workforce in the northwestern Melbourne region. Utilising their understanding of adult learning principles, the Program Officer supports education that aligns with the priority needs of our region's population and implements strategies to ensure maximum participation by health care professionals.

A typical week may involve:

  • Managing the ongoing planning and delivery of our education calendar (including communications, evaluation and reporting)
  • Engaging with key stakeholders for consultation and education development, e.g., secretariat support for and communicating with networks and education providers
  • Supporting Primary Health Care Improvement team projects, e.g., coordinating EOIs, supporting events and providing education expertise

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Demonstrated experience in the coordination and delivery of education and training activities, including accreditation of training to meet professional standards (e.g., RACGP)
  • Experience in effective stakeholder engagement and relationship development with health professionals
  • Well-developed written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, able to work proactively on a diverse range of projects with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Understanding of primary health care in Australia
  • Experience with online education platforms or Learning Management Systems (desirable)
