Reporting to the Lead, VHHITAL, the Program Support Officer will undertake administrative duties to support the operational development and delivery of the Victorian HIV and Hepatitis Integrated Training and Learning (VHHITAL) program.

NWMPHN is the lead agency for the VHHITAL program and responsible for the delivery of the program across the state. To achieve this, we work closely with a consortium of other key stakeholders.

The program objectives are to improve the health outcomes for members of the community at risk of or living with Blood Borne Viruses (BBV) & Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs). We do this by delivering comprehensive training to general practitioners, nurse practitioners and primary care providers to support them in the testing, diagnosis, treatment, care and management of these conditions. Our efforts are also directed towards actively combating stigma and discrimination against people affected by BBV & STIs in our community.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in an administrative role, working with software, and technical and database systems
  • Experience/professionalism required to work with confidential, personal, and sensitive information and records
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Qualifications in either administration or a health-related field will be an advantage

PHNs have been established with the key objectives of increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of medical services for patients, particularly those at risk of poor health outcomes; and improving coordination of care to ensure patients receive the right care in the right place, at the right time.

Some evening or weekend work may be required to support our training delivery. Access to your own vehicle is required.
