We are North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network (NWMPHN), Victoria's largest independent, locally governed and run, not-for-profit PHN, dedicated to improving primary health care in our community. We work with and support over 500 general practices in order to ensure that the primary care delivered in our region is person-centered, comprehensive, accessible, safe and coordinated.

We are looking for a Program Officer to join our Primary Health Care Improvement team. The role provides support to general practice teams across north western Melbourne in the implementation of continuous quality improvement initiatives and health reforms.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading continuous quality improvement projects with general practice teams and other NWMPHN staff using a project management approach
  • Building strong relationships with general practice teams in order to deliver support for quality improvement
  • Developing and monitoring Practice Improvement Plans which outline quality improvement activities undertaken by practices, and coaching, inspiring and encouraging practices to maintain momentum actioning these Plans

The successful candidate will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in health
  • Experience in the use and application of project management methodologies, and the ability to lead and contribute as a member of a project team
  • Knowledge and understanding of quality improvement methodology, application and implementation
  • Ability to develop strong, meaningful relationships with practices, other external stakeholders and internally within NWMPHN
  • Experience working in a general practice or primary care setting will be an advantage
