Meals On Wheels Mitchelton is currently in the process of amalgamating with Meals on Wheels St Lucia to create Meals on Wheels North West – servicing the North West Suburbs of Brisbane. This amalgamation will be finalised over the coming months, with this role initially being employed by Meals on Wheels Mitchelton and continuing under the new entity.

About the role

The Business Development Officer (BDO) will be responsible for expanding the organisations reach by increasing the client base. The key focus of the role will be strengthening the organisations connections to its referral pathways which include Home Care Package Providers, Disability Support Services, Health and Allied Health Services, and other organisations supporting vulnerable persons.

The BDO will work closely with the General Manager to develop strategies to achieve the organisations objectives. To the extent that these strategies are approved, the BDO will be expected to work under general direction to implement these strategies, working collaboratively with other staff as necessary.

Salary Packaging is available to increase take-home pay.

About the Ideal Candidate

  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders, and achieving significant growth targets;
  • Energised and motivated by working for a For-Purpose organisation;
  • Experience within the aged care sector, particularly Home Care Package Providers;
  • Experience working with and leading volunteers;
  • Knowledge of marketing strategies; and
  • Current drivers license and use of a vehicle.

It is a requirement of our funding that all staff have and maintain a clear national police check for the duration of their employment.
