About the role

We are looking for a dynamic and resilient individual to work in our Community Development team as a Community Connections and Inclusion Officer. The role engages and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to plan and deliver strategies, projects and events aimed at increasing community connection and inclusion.

The successful applicant will provide expert advice to the organisation and stakeholders on the integration of diversity and inclusion into policies, plans, strategies and programs. The position supports community strengthening and development through disability access and age-friendly work and the introduction of volunteering opportunities.

This role actively participates in strategic planning to enable Moorabool to plan and deliver high quality outcomes and services into the future for LGBTIQA+ communities, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

Qualifications, Experience & Competencies

  • A tertiary degree in community services, community development, diversity and inclusion, or other relevant field, together with demonstrated relevant experience in the sector.
  • Proven ability to develop plan, implement and evaluate policies and strategies to strengthen communities and deliver on diversity and inclusion outcomes.
  • Strong team and networking skills, with the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Well-developed project management and analytical skills, with the ability to undertake program evaluations, report writing, funding submissions and data analysis.
  • Demonstrated understanding of, and experience in current trends and priorities in relation to diversity and inclusion, including aged and disability services, LGBTIQA+ communities, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
  • Ability to facilitate and influence thinking on social issues and the ability to work collaboratively and establish effective working relationships to achieve change.
  • A current Victorian Driver’s Licence is required.
