About the Role and You

Looking for the next challenge in your career as a family/carer peer worker? Interested in a leadership role? We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced family/care peer worker to lead and support the growth of the peer workforce across our community mental health services.

Working alongside the Consumer Peer Worker Team Leader you will work closely with community mental health service managers to develop and implement a peer workforce strategy across our community mental health services. You will provide lived experience leadership to the growing peer workforce, with responsibilities including recruitment and orientation, and ensuring they have a point of contact for support, professional development, mentoring and supervision. You will have lived experience of mental illness and recovery / of caring for a family member, friend or loved one with a mental illness, experience of undertaking direct peer work with consumers, and skills in mentoring and supervising others.

Location

The position will be based in Dandenong, but will be required to work across all sites, and so a full driving license is required.
