About the service

The Acute Community Intervention Service provides timely comprehensive assessment and delivers evidence-based treatment in the most appropriate setting at the ‘front end’ of service delivery. This includes short-term interventions and treatment for those whose illness can be readily managed in the community, as well as seamless engagement with longer-term care for those with relapsing or enduring conditions.

About the role

We currently have a position available for an acute services clinician formerly CATT/ECATT. You will be required to work across a number of functions which include CATT, ECATT and PARCS. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, based at Clayton Campus. Candidates will be required to work a 24/7 roster which includes night shift.

The role will include establishing positive working relationships which will extend to other parts of our mental health program, external agents and of course our clients.

What you need

From you we expect a degree in Social Work or other qualification making you eligible for membership of Australian Association of Social Workers, or your being a registered nurse with AHPRA. Also suitable is your Occupational Therapy qualification with eligibility for Australian Association of Occupational Therapists. Hand in hand with this are your first class interpersonal and problem solving skills. Your experience will also include community based assessment of acute and chronically mentally ill people with a range of disorders. You must have the ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of the multidisciplinary team engaging with multiple key stakeholders. You will also work independently and have outstanding time management skills and be able to prioritise effectively to achieve desired outcomes in a timely manner.

  • Current AHPRA registration
  • You must have relevant professional registration
  • A valid Working with Children Check
  • A valid Victorian Drivers Licence is essential
  • 5 years post graduate experience
  • Post Graduate Qualification in Mental Health is preferred

This is a Mental Health Clinician position as follows:

  • OT - Grade 2 Year 1-4/ or Grade 3 Year 1-4
  • RN - Grade 3 Year 1-4/or Grade 4 Year 1-4
  • SW - Grade 2 Year 1-4/ or Grade 3 Year 1-4
