About Us

Western Sydney Community Legal Centre (WSCLC) is a not-for-profit community legal centre delivering free legal services and support to disadvantaged and vulnerable people who may otherwise not have equitable access to the legal system.

WSCLC was formed in 2016 through the amalgamation of three well-established community legal centres. As we are transferring registration from an incorporated association to a special purpose company limited by guarantee (i.e. a company established for charitable purposes), we are seeking suitable individuals who bring a complementary mix of skills, knowledge and experience to join the new Board.

We’d like to hear from people who:

  • Align with our vision, purpose and values
  • Can commit the equivalent of half a day to 2 days/month (depending on role)
  • Can attend Board meetings bimonthly in Western Sydney (time and location to be determined by the Board)
  • Have strong communication, interpersonal and team-working skills,
  • An understanding of the issues experienced by our clients
  • Financial literacy
  • A background in one or more of the following:
    • Not-for-profit governance
    • Legal assistance services
    • Organisation management / leadership
    • People Management
    • Strategic analysis and change management
    • Employment Law
    • Government / Social Policy / Advocacy
    • Financial management
  • Support our commitment to building a Board that reflects the cultural and social diversity of Western Sydney
