Your Opportunity

An exciting and rare opportunity has become available to lead Mission Australia’ Pilbara's portfolio of Mental Health services.

This role will attract an empowering leader who has expertise in service delivery across the community, mental health, family and domestic violence and/or housing sector; with a strong track record in managing diverse teams and complex services.

They will be able to point to their skills and previous deliverables in driving services to deliver quality outcomes for all service users accessing our services. They must have the sound management skills required to manage a remote and distant team, strong communication skills and the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.

The Pilbara Mental Health portfolio includes the Integrated Primary Mental Health Care (IPMHC) program, Family and Domestic Violence Coordinated Response Service and THRIVE Pilbara with staff located across the Pilbara in Hedland, Karratha, Newman and Tom Price.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Manage and support a team of staff across multiple worksites to ensure the delivery of program requirements
  • Engage relevant stakeholders to continue the effective running of the programs
  • Oversee the accuracy and management of reporting, client files and program data 
  • Influence the operational procedures by developing work practices and procedures 

Requirements for Success

To be successful in this role you will need to possess:

  • A tertiary qualification with professional registration in a psychology, social, allied health, nursing or health sciences field
  • Extensive experience in  counselling or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of quality, risk management practices and clinical governance
  • Demonstrated experience in the management of multidisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated highly developed communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated highly developed strategic management skills and the capacity to provide leadership in a remote environment
  • Demonstrated highly developed policy development, financial and human resource management skills within a community service delivery environment
  • A personal alignment with the values of Mission Australia

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
