Your Opportunity

In this newly created and varied role you will manage the effective operations of the Stuart Lodge facility to provide an efficient and safe working environment for staff and service users.

Stuart Lodge provides transitional accommodation for singles/families in Alice Springs experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Stuart Lodge has 33 rooms (with up to 68 beds), and supports people seeking shelter from sleeping rough/ those visiting from remote communities for medical reasons, & people recently released from Alice Springs Correctional Centre. Wraparound support is provided to help people secure long-term, sustainable accommodation.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Management of a small team of facility staff inclusive of kitchen, cleaning and maintenance staff.
  • Rostering and scheduling to ensure 24x7 staff coverage
  • Responsible for the operational aspects of Stuart Lodge to ensure building is fit for purpose and maintained
  • Ensuring Stuart Lodge meets all health and safety requirements
  • Coordinating and overseeing any repairs or maintenance required

Requirements for Success

  • Experience gained from similar position within a comparable environment such as an aged care facility, educational boarding house or correctional centres.  
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Facilities Management, Building Services or a related field such as project management, business management or construction management are desirable.
  • Sound knowledge of legislation relevant to facilities management including Workplace Health and Safety legislation, environmental health and Child Safety practices.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing rosters, ensuring they are in line with
  • Modern Awards or Enterprise Agreements.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • The ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • The ability to make sound decisions and to solve problems.
  • A sound level of computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
