Your Role:

In this interesting and satisfying role your main responsibilities include:

  • Managing and supporting a small team of dedicated Disability Support workers who deliver programs for client’s in an active person-centred manner
  • Establishing rapport with stakeholders including Minimbah staff, Allied Health Specialists and client representatives
  • Contributing to the development of care plans and ensuring that finance, attendance and program related documents are completed accurately and within timeframes
  • Providing direct support to clients, as required, such as covering shifts for absent staff

Your Skills and Experience

To be considered for this role you should have:

  • A good sense of humour, empathy and a genuine commitment to supporting people with complex intellectual disabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in the disability sector delivering person-centred services for people with complex intellectual disabilities.
  • Well-developed communication and inter-personal skills including staff supervision skills
  • Experience in supporting clients with challenging behaviours
  • Sound knowledge of NDIS standards including processes around restrictive practices
  • Willingness to obtain an NDIS Worker Check. Staff who work in our children’s program will be required to have a current Working with Children Check
  • An appropriate visa that entitles you to work in NSW
  • Certificate level qualification (or higher) in Disability will be highly regarded
