About Us

Abbotsford Events Inc. was founded in April 2021, in response to COVID-19, by skilled residents of Abbotsford. Our purpose is to create opportunities for local businesses as well artists, entertainers & professionals working in the events industry, that have been devastatingly affected by lockdowns since March 2020, while promoting mental health awareness on behalf of local charity, Headspace Collingwood. The main event will be a not-for-profit community street festival, Mind Your Langridge Street Fest, scheduled for 27 March 2022 in Langridge Street, Abbotsford.

We are seeking an experienced freelance Event Producer to focus on the planning and operational implementation of Mind Your Langridge Street Fest including managing relations with key stakeholders.

About The Role

  • Identify and apply for funding opportunities including grants, philanthropy, and sponsorship.
  • Organise all permits and authorisations as required by local council.
  • Planning and delivery of all event services (i.e. security, cleaning, traffic management, accessibility, bump in and bump out etc)
  • Design and delivery of event site plans, including bump-in and out plans.
  • Develop and manage effective risk management plan.
  • Manage fundraising opportunities such as Bunnings Sausage Sizzles (15 Jan & 12 Feb).
  • Develop and deliver community and fundraising initiatives with event partners including Headspace Collingwood.
  • Assist event volunteer and staff recruitment.
  • Assist design and production of all branding opportunities such as merchandise, event day signage, social media assets.
  • Assist marketing initiatives including street advertising, social media campaigns, and website.

About You

  • Demonstrated experience managing all aspects of events (preferably live music festivals).
  • Skilled in grant writing and/or fundraising will be a bonus.
  • Passion for live music, events, and community collaboration.
  • Self-starter with plenty of initiative, an ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
  • Team player with natural ability to create and foster relationships with councils, community groups, local businesses, artists, and professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage contractors and volunteers.
  • Cost-effective budget management and tracking with strong numerical skills.
  • Ability to set priorities, plan work programs and schedules.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check.
