Mindful in May

Seeking Australian candidates (remote)

  • Opportunity to lead the department and make your mark on an established social enterprise with over 35,000 followers.
  • Work when you like and wherever you like. Flexibility in bucketloads!
  • Caring, supportive culture where you can truly be yourself
  • Option to work part-time or full-time (minimum 35 hour week)

Mindful in May (MIM) is the world’s largest online mindfulness fundraising event and we have a truly unique role on offer. We’re looking for a senior marketer to join our small but awesome team.

Our organisation is all about building awareness of mindfulness as well as giving back to communities through the sale of online, mindfulness and meditation training courses.

We run a pay to use online course platform, where we host our flagship month-long program as well as a number of evergreen mindfulness courses, which range from 5 days to an ongoing membership program.

Our event has attracted the support of corporate companies, like Google and celebrities such as Magda Szubanski and Megan Gale and raised nearly $1 million to build clean water wells in developing countries.

Because we’re 100% remote, we offer genuine flexibility, an open and transparent culture. Oh and you can work when you like wherever you like!

Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of our CRM: Delivering segmented email marketing campaigns. Maintaining and optimising our sales funnels with the support of our web partners. Hands-on CRM and email campaign experience are desirable.

  • Growth and analytics: Improving customer acquisition costs and purchase conversion volume in order to hit our growth targets. Building easily accessible analytics dashboards (Google Analytics, or another tool of your choice). Presenting regular campaign reports to the team that identify growth opportunities.

  • Management of external vendors: as a small team we rely on contractors and agencies across areas such as SEO, SEM, Web dev and PR. A large part of this role is around ensuring our marketing suppliers are accountable and are delivering maximum ROI. Proven commercial experience in effectively managing digital vendors is a must.

  • Website management: Managing a website overhaul alongside our agency.
While you won’t be writing code you should have a strong understanding of what makes a successful website come to life. You won’t be shy about taking final accountability for all key success metrics (i.e conversion rate, average order value, page load time, performances across traffic sources etc). WordPress admin (not dev) experience is a bonus and our developers are all close by to support your vision.

  • Campaign launches: Managing our small team (social media, website, copy, customer service, virtual assistants) to create streamlined, smooth, and organised launches of our campaigns and programs.

  • Partnerships: Research and direct outreach for potential values aligned partnerships and affiliates. Liaising with a PR agency for mainstream media opportunities.

  • Managing our tech stack: Currently, we use WordPress, AccessAlly, Asana, Slack, and Ontraport, but we’re flexible and open to trying new ways of doing things.

  • Ensuring our branding is consistent across all channels

Reporting: You’ll report to our Founder and have an opportunity to work with her to grow our offer and its reach, in conjunction with assisting in hiring a Product Manager.

If you had been working with us this year, you would have:

  • Initiated a website refresh, developing information architecture, key messaging, and high-converting landing pages with our designer

  • Led the launch of Mindful in May & its Encore (repeat program) in July, driving registrations through both paid and earned channels

  • Completed keyword research and implemented a content strategy to rank for those keywords using our website and blog

  • Set up dashboards reporting on our key audience touchpoints and website performance

  • Established clear conversion funnels and content-driven touchpoints for Mindful in May’s diverse audience

  • Managed growth and engagement of our social channels with our Social Manager

  • Planned and implemented a drip series for new leads to establish trust and brand awareness

  • Established OKRs for yourself (and your team), measured and reported on them regularly

  • Conducted a detailed data-driven and insights oriented post-campaign review.

Do any of the points below describe you?

  • Commercially savvy with strong business acumen. You understand the hidden complexities of marketing an online business.

  • You may have worked in marketing for an online product before (SaaS, App, online courses, eCommerce).

  • You love learning and spend your free time keeping up to date with digital marketing trends.

  • You’re known by friends as super organised, you’ve got a capacity for juggling multiple tasks; creating timelines and managing other people well.

  • You're comfortably self-directed, enjoy remote working as part of a team and have an entrepreneurial flair for rolling up your sleeves and getting stuff done.

  • You have extensive marketing knowledge, understand the importance of data-driven strategy and execution, and are comfortable with the mechanics of launching online programs.

  • This may suit a parent returning to the workforce who needs flexibility.

  • Interested in mindfulness/meditation.
