About the role

Mind’s Connect program supports individuals with mental health issues with a strengths based, recovery frameworks to assist those who are experiencing distress and crisis to avoid hospital admissions or aid a return home from hospital as early as possible. Support is provided by case management to ensure coordinated services, developing a lifestyle that has meaning and value to allow active participation in the community, reducing social isolation and enhancing independent living skills, and establishing positive connections with support networks based on individual needs.

We are seeking a motivated, experienced Service Manager - Lived Experience for a fixed term 6 month, full time opportunity, with a possibility of an extension, in the North Adelaide area to provide leadership and manage operations for the Connect program. You will ensure high quality, recovery-oriented services are provided to clients, their families and carers consistent with Mind’s My Better Life Model and organisational values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage services to clients, families and carers in line with Mind’s model of practice.
  • Provide leadership to ensure delivery of safe, effective recovery orientated care.
  • Operate collaboratively with a range of services and the community to ensure a co-ordinated and integrated response to the client’s recovery goals.
  • Guide a high performing team by engaging staff, setting clear direction and performance expectations.
  • Manage and be accountable for achievement of service performance and budget targets.

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field.
  • A willingness to utilise your own lived experience of mental illness and recovery to coach the team.
  • Proven leadership and management skills to support the team to work with people who have mental health issues and complex needs.
  • Successful track record in relationship development, management and strategic partnerships.
  • Experience in financial management, budget control and reporting.
