About the role

We are seeking an innovative and dynamic Service Lead to join our Warrnambool Prevention and Recovery Care (PARC) team on a fixed term 12month contract.

The PARC is a 10 bed residential facility servicing the catchment of South-West Health Care, providing services to adults aged between 16 and up. The service is designed as a ‘step up, step down’ program for people with mental illness who require individualised treatment and support entering either directly from the community or as a transition from acute inpatient care.

Fostering a collaborative relationship with South West Health Care and the PARC team, the Service Lead will provide leadership to improve mental illness through a combination of recovery focused community and clinical mental health services, managing all operational aspects of the service. They will also manage, monitor, review and maintain appropriate systems, procedures, evaluations, inter-agency relationships and staff management in accordance with Mind’s policies and procedures.

Duties

  • Provide leadership to all Mind employees to ensure guided delivery of safe and effective recovery orientated care
  • Work closely with the South West Health Care Manager to ensure a high standard of service delivery and care is provided
  • Manage and be accountable for all organisational aspects including the achievement of Service performance and budget targets
  • Oversee the delivery of services by staff in line with approved systems, policies and procedures

What are we looking for?

  • Significant experience in delivering high-quality community mental health services
  • Ability to build and lead a positive team culture that focuses on meeting the customer’s goals using evidence informed practice
  • Capability to strategically connect with the wider community and mental health sector, develop partnerships and maximise opportunities for service delivery
  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or other health-related field as designated by Mind
