About the role

As a Psychosocial Recovery Coach (Mental Health Practitioner) you will be responsible for providing recovery focused mental health services to people with higher levels of vulnerability and complexity who may benefit from the wide range of services offered by Mind. This role is based in Gippsland working full time across a 7 day roster.

You will

  • Support customer wellbeing with providing assistance for trips away
  • Provide targeted short term supports aimed at goals
  • Create a safe and welcoming environment
  • Manage service staff and budget
  • Utilise lived experience to support people with their recovery and offer strategies to reach recovery goals
  • Implement individual NDIS plans to meet customer identified goals
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure recovery oriented approach
  • Collaborate with others in the customer’s life, including family, carers, mainstream support and other service providers chosen by the customer

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health related field
  • Knowledge of working within a recovery oriented framework to support individuals, families and carers
  • Experience in developing strength based assessments with clients
  • Ability to support the facilitation and the re-engagement and maintenance of family and carer relationships
  • Experience in supporting client to develop their daily living skills and capacity for self-care
