About the role

The National Psycho Social Program (NPSP) is a program delivered by Mind as part of a consortium with Neami National, Life Without Barriers, Mind Australia, Mission Australia and Skylight Mental Health. NPSP supports individuals with mental health issues within a recovery framework that’s focused on strengths and capabilities, including identifying and maintaining a lifestyle that has meaning and value, enabling participation in community life, and a reduction in social isolation as well as enhancing independent living skills and support networks.

We have a challenging permanent, part time (19 hours per week) opportunity for a self-motivated, compassionate Occupational Therapist to provide quality therapeutic and mental health intervention supports to clients across metropolitan Adelaide. Work from home, you will deliver meaningful recovery-focused services including clinical assessments, interventions and capacity building for clients with mental health support needs.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide therapeutic support services to customers including assessment, diagnosis, brief intervention, treatment planning and evaluation, and education and research in line with professional and National Standards.
  • Deliver OT assessments (functional and sensory), behaviour support plans and short-term intervention methods that are person-centred and evidence-based.
  • Work collaboratively as a member of multidisciplinary team to facilitate the delivery of an efficient and responsive service to clients, families and carers.
  • Liaise with the NDIS and relevant stakeholders regarding clients and facilitate provision of coordinated clinical care and treatment for referred clients.

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary degree qualification in Occupational Therapy or other health related field with the ability to obtain registration with AHPRA.
  • Expertise in working with people with mental health issues, complex needs and interacting with families and carers.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the NDIS and Community Services sector with the ability to build strong relationships with service providers and key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritise to meet customer service delivery requirements.
