About the role

Mind’s Fee for Service program operates within the local community providing recovery focused mental health services and wellbeing as well as ensuring customers and their families have the support and services they need to achieve their goals which reflect Mind’s Model of Recovery.

We are seeking a self-motivated, compassionate Occupational Therapist for a fixed term 6 month, full time opportunity to provide allied health specific and transdisciplinary clinical services to customers with mental health related disability, dual disability and complex needs across metropolitan Melbourne. Working from home, you will demonstrate a commitment to delivering a meaningful client-focused, person-centred approach to service provision.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide therapeutic support services to customers including assessment, diagnosis, brief intervention, treatment planning and evaluation, and education and research in line with professional and National Standards.
  • Complete assistive technology and home modification assessments and quotations to support individual goals and independence of customers.
  • Utilise professional judgement to complex cases adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence for customers with complex needs.
  • Collaborate with a range of services and the community to ensure a co-ordinated and integrated response to the client’s recovery goals.

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary degree qualification in Occupation Therapy or other health related field with the ability to obtain registration with AHPRA.
  • Expertise in working with people with mental health issues, complex needs and ability to interact with families and carers.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Community Services sector and ability to build strong relationships with service providers and key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritise to meet customer service delivery requirements.
