About the role

The Recovery Retreat service is for people with severe and enduring psychosocial disability, the retreats are staffed 24/7 and funded through residents’ NDIS packages to ensure their safety and wellbeing. Our service is guided by Mind’s Model of Recovery Oriented practice and support is provided individually and within a group context to encourage clients to build a sense of community, give opportunities to try new things and develop new skills.

We are seeking compassionate, resilient Mental Health Support Workers for casual opportunities to work on a 24/7 rotating roster in North Adelaide area. You will play an integral role in developing individual programs and providing recovery-oriented psychosocial support to assist clients with daily living tasks to achieve wellbeing and independent living.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide support to clients using targeted and integrated case managed responses.
  • Deliver quality services and facilitate positive educational and social experiences.
  • Plan and deliver group programs that aid clients to build their skills and focus on recovery.
  • Collaborate with a range of services and the community to ensure a co-ordinated, integrated response to the client’s recovery goals.

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate III) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field.
  • Expertise in working with people with mental health issues, complex needs and interacting with families and carers.
  • Relevant experience in facilitating group activities for clients experiencing mental ill health.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the NDIS and Community Services sector and ability to build strong relationships with service providers, clinical teams and key stakeholders.
