About the role

The Fee for Service - Psychosocial Recovery Service (PRS) program operates within the local community providing recovery focused, person-centred mental health services and wellbeing. This service ensures customers and their families and carers have the support and services they need to achieve their better life goals in line with Mind’s Model of Recovery.

We are seeking a motivated, passionate Mental Health Practitioner to join the collaborative PRS team for a permanent, part time (4 days or 30 hours per week) opportunity in the Wangaratta area. You will be responsible for providing short-term recovery interventions, psycho-social education, support and mentoring to customers with vulnerability and complexity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver quality services and facilitate positive educational and social experiences to support clients.
  • Provide personalised support coordination services consistent with defined goals and aspirations identified in NDIS plans.
  • Develop strength based assessments as well as daily living skills and capacity for self-care with clients.
  • Work with client’s families and carers by providing information, advice and support relevant to health and social needs.

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or other health-related field.
  • Expertise in working with people with mental health issues, complex needs and interacting with families and carers.
  • Proven ability to implement a recovery oriented framework.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Community Services sector and ability to build strong relationships with agencies, clinical providers and key stakeholders.
