Mind Australia is one of the country’s leading community-managed specialist mental health service providers with a range of residential, mobile outreach, centre based and online services. We have been supporting people living with the day-to-day impacts of mental illness, as well as their families, friends and carers for over 40 years.
We provide practical and motivational support that helps people to develop the skills they need to move on, thrive and improve the quality of their lives. It’s an approach to mental health and wellbeing that looks at the whole person in the context of their daily life. Mind is committed to diversity and social inclusion.
The short stay Adult Step-Up and Step-Down (SUSD) program within the Sub-Acute program is delivered through partnerships with QLD hospital networks. Clients are able to access specialist clinical mental health staff 24 hours a day whilst supporting connections with family and friends as well as learning strategies to live fulfilling lives within their community. The SUSD’s provide a schedule of group activities alongside individual 1:1 support based on strengths and goals identified in recovery plans.
We are seeking two permanent, full time Community Mental Health Practitioners for our Mackay SUSD residence. The Practitioner will play an integral role in providing a person centred, strength based, and recovery focused approach to assisting clients with their skill development and community access.
