About the role

Mind focuses on supporting individuals with mental health issues within a framework of recovery that is focused on strengths and capabilities; including supporting clients to develop and maintain a sustainable lifestyle that has meaning and value, actively participate in community, manage day-to-day activities and reduce social isolation. This is achieved through enhancing client’s independent living skills and establishing or maintaining a positive connection with support networks.

We are seeking several passionate Community Mental Health Practitioners for casual opportunities in the Adelaide area to provide services to clients, families and carers in line with Mind’s My Better Life Model. You will be working on a personalised support program that provides recovery oriented services to people living with mental ill health in the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to clients to help them achieve their recovery goals.
  • Support clients by delivering high quality service and facilitating positive educational and social experiences.
  • Assist clients by including families and carers in the recovery program through provision of education and information.
  • Plan and deliver group programs that aid clients to build their skills and focus on recovery.

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or other health-related field.
  • Expertise in working with people with mental health issues, complex needs, and interacting with families and carers.
  • Demonstrated understanding of NDIS and the Community Services sector and ability to build strong relationships with agencies, clinical providers and key stakeholders.
  • Relevant experience in facilitating group activities for clients experiencing mental ill health.
