About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for casual Community Mental Health Practitioners to collaborate with the team to host Mind's Recovery Retreats. Our Recovery Retreats are to a range of destinations, and we’re always planning our next supported getaways.

In this role, you will support people with a psychosocial disability to enjoy their time at the Recovery Retreat with access to activities and social connection. There is also the possibility to provide backfill within our other programs. Successful applicants will have flexible availability and willingness to work across a range of shifts including nights and weekends.

Duties:

  • Spend time supporting customers to engage in new experiences
  • Build people’s capacity in activities of daily living
  • Support people to build their independence in a safe and supportive setting.

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health related field
  • Ability to work within a recovery oriented framework to support individuals, families and carers
  • Competency in developing strength based assessments with clients
  • Facilitation of the re-engagement and maintenance of family and carer relationships
  • Experience supporting clients in developing daily living skills and capacity for self-care
