About the role

Mind’s Fee for Service program operates within the community focusing on supporting people to achieve better life goals which reflects Mind’s Model of Recovery. We offer short respite in the form of Recovery Retreats to between 1-4 customers to destinations including holiday houses beside the sea, mountainsides, or peaceful bushlands settings to assist with mental ill health recovery.

We are seeking several casual Mental Health Practitioners who will be responsible for delivering the Recovery Retreats to customers in the Wodonga or Wangaratta and surrounding areas in North Eastern Victoria. These roles would suit people with flexible availabilities as trips can range in length from 1-3 days away.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support clients by delivering high quality service and facilitating positive educational and social experiences.
  • Build customer’s capacity to engage in new experiences and daily activities.
  • Support people to build their independence in a safe and supportive setting.
  • Work within a recovery oriented framework to support individuals, families and carers.
  • Develop strength based assessments with customers.

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or other health-related field.
  • Expertise in working with people with mental health issues, complex needs, and interacting with families and carers.
  • Experience in delivering short term accommodation or respite support.
  • Knowledge in coaching methodology, briefing interventions, family work and AOD.
