Mind Australia is one of the country’s leading community-managed specialist mental health service providers with a range of residential, mobile outreach, centre based and online services. We have been supporting people living with the day-to-day impacts of mental illness, as well as their families, friends and carers for over 45 years.
We provide practical and motivational support that helps people to develop the skills they need to move on, thrive and improve the quality of their lives. It’s an approach to mental health and wellbeing that looks at the whole person in the context of their daily life. Mind is committed to diversity and social inclusion.
The Individual Recovery Support Program (IRSP) is an outreach service providing a person-centred, evidence based approach to recovery tailored to meet individual needs. Outreach services are delivered to adults 18 years and over within the community who have severe mental ill health and recently accessed mental health clinical services. IRSP provides streamlined processes, high quality responsiveness and integrated psychosocial rehabilitation with clinical supports underpinned by Mind’s Model of Recovery Oriented Practice. The service refers clients to the Group Based Recovery Support Program (GBRSP) to ensure holistic needs and recovery goals are met.
We are seeking empathetic, self-motivated Community Mental Health Practitioners for a fixed-term, full-time opportunity until June 2026, to work alongside a caring team in the Cairns area. Working from home, you will provide high quality, recovery-focused outreach services to clients including face-to-face, online and telephone supports.
