About the role

A permanent part-time position has become available at Bendigo Youth Prevention and Recovery Care (YPARC). YPARC is a modern and purpose built 10-bed residential facility for young people experiencing mental illness.

Fostering a collaborative relationship with Bendigo Health and the YPARC team, this role will see you supporting the provision of short term intensive treatment and support for youth clients. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will work with a team to improve mental illness through a combination of recovery focused community and clinical mental health services.

This position works across a 24 hour roster, 7 days a week and includes sleepover and active night shifts. The successful applicant must be flexible to work across all shifts.

Duties

  • Working with clients to enable them return to their place of residence and a meaningful life through supporting them through a staged approach to recovery
  • Work within a recovery oriented framework to support individuals, families and carers
  • Working collaboratively with a broad range of services as they relate to client’s needs to ensure a co-ordinated and integrate response to the client’s recovery goals
  • Planning and delivering group work programs that will assist customers to build their skills, focus on their recovery
  • Providing a central point to support families and carers

What you’ll bring

  • Demonstrated ability to liaise with clients, colleagues and Clinical Partners to implement a recovery oriented framework
  • Previous experience working with clients experiencing mental illness or in a similar role
  • Supervised the development of strengths based assessments for clients
  • Experience in facilitation and delivery of group work
  • Ability to build solid connections with clients, colleagues and stakeholders
  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or other health-related field as designated by Mind
