The Way Back Support Service (WBSS) is a non-clinical support service focused on providing practical psychosocial support to people experiencing a suicidal crisis or who have attempted suicide. The service supports ‘at risk’ clients to stay safe, build capacity to self-manage distress, improve mental wellbeing, and promotes links with support networks as well as clinical and community services to meet needs.
We are seeking a resilient, compassionate Community Mental Health Practitioner for a 12 month fixed term, part time (23 hours per week) opportunity to work within a close knit team in the Bendigo area. You will be responsible for providing recovery-orientated outreach services, non-clinical care and psychosocial support to clients following a suicide attempt or suicidal crisis to ultimately reduce the risk of reattempts.
