Minda Assist Therapy (MAT) is a multi-disciplinary team that provides professional assessment and support for people with disability who receive a service or are supported by Minda.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Senior Psychologist to join our dynamic growing team.

Our Professional Support Services team are recognised for the services they provide to our clients and members of the community throughout South Australia. This role will see you provide individual and family therapies, behaviour support planning and intervention, assessment and consultancy and professional advice on complex clinical, ethical and legal matters related to Psychological services. Referrals will be from across areas of Minda, external agencies, service providers and families.

Knowledge and skills required:

• Experience working in a NDIS Environment
• A demonstrated knowledge of the complex support issues for people with multiple disabilities (physical, sensory and psychiatric). 
• The ability to build rapport and professional relationships with a range of people including, but not limited to people with an intellectual disability, support staff and other professionals is essential.
• Ensure an empirical, objective approach to analysing often complex behavioural, psychosocial and mental health issues
• Provide professional psychological collaboration with the multidisciplinary team on complex issues related to complex ethical matters
• Prescribe and provide advice regarding intrusive and restrictive behaviour support practices and procedures.
• Contribute to projects, committees and other working groups involved in the development or review of models of service.
• Participate in the delivery of training courses on behaviour support, mental health and other topics of a Psychological nature as required at the Certificate III and IV level.

Essential requirements of the role:

• Ability to obtain the NDIS worker screening clearance through the DHS (Department of Human Services) website prior to employment
• South Australian Driver’s Licence
• Eligibility to register to practice under the Psychology Board of Australia
• Eligibility to register as a Behaviour Support Practitioner with the NDIS
• Competency using computers, connected technologies such as smartphones and tablets, and associated software
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities with a sense of urgency
