The Opportunity:
We are looking for a Clinical Nurse to join our dynamic growing team – The Supported Independent Living. The Clinical nurse will provide clinical leadership in nursing practice and ensures maintenance of standards of nursing care.

Key Responsibilities:
- Communicating effectively
- Supporting person centred practices
- Delivering direct and comprehensive nursing care and individual case management to consumers in a particular area of nursing practice
- Carrying out and monitoring reporting, documentation, and administration
- Achieving outcomes and progress with consumer’s goals
- Monitoring and adhering to WHS and other relevant legislation and standards and workplace policies and procedures
- Maintaining quality and practice improvement
- Leading, monitoring and coaching a team
- Building and maintaining relationships with consumers, families, other work areas and stakeholders
- Facilitating participation and inclusion
- Aligning own and other ways of working with organisational purpose, goals and values
Key knowledge, attributes, and skills:
- Sound knowledge of human rights-based approaches to supporting a person with a disability
- Knowledge of current trends and practices in the Aged and Disability Sectors
- Knowledge of Aged Care and Disability quality and accreditation standards
- Experience working in disability or aged care using a person-centred practice approach
- Experience with leading a team
- Experience resolving complex people and consumer issues
- Demonstrated experience in liaising and networking with stakeholders
- Ability to relate on a personal level with people with intellectual disability
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office suite of software
- A working understanding of the Aged Care Funding Instrument
- An innovative and resourceful approach to work
- Open to change
- A focus on reflective practice
Key Requirements of the role:
Essential:
- Registered with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- Holds a current and unrestricted practising certificate
Desirable:
- Postgraduate studies in Gerontology, Disability or other specialty relevant to practice
Clearances and Licenses:
- National Police Clearance
- Department of Community and Social Inclusion (DCSI) Clearance Certificate
- Australian Driver’s License
