Minda Assist Therapy (MAT) is a multi-disciplinary team that provides professional assessment and support for people with disability who receive a service or are supported by Minda.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for an experienced, and highly effective Clinical Lead Speech Pathologist , to lead a team of speech pathologists dedicated to ensuring the very best in care is delivered to our clients and in turn help improve the independence, wellbeing and quality of life of people with a disability.

The Clinical Lead for Speech Pathologist works in collaboration with the Manager Minda ASSIST Therapy and works closely with the Clinical Leads of Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Exercise Physiology, Social Work and Developmental Education for identified clinical and professional leadership activities.

You will align your operational duties with the values of Minda at the heart of your decision making, and work in a collaborative nature with your colleagues and peers to drive operational excellence.

Key skills, knowledge and attributes:

  • Experience working in a NDIS Environment
  • Experience working with adult clients who have complex disabilities along with both high and low tech AAC specialisation
  • Experience working with clients with low-tech and high-tech AAC requirements, as well as other needs such as speech and language disorders, cognition, voice, fluency, keyword signing, emerging communication and literacy
  • A willingness to provide a genuine commitment to the mentoring of other Speech Pathologists and ensure that the team of Speech Pathologists are achieving the optimum service delivery outcomes
  • Take responsibility for the Speech Pathology discipline’s performance by setting clear goals and expectations, tracking progress against goals and ensuring feedback and addressing performance problems and issues promptly.
  • Delegate duties and prioritise activities to ensure all referrals and other Speech Pathology clinical matters are addressed in a timely and effective manner
  • Develop a supportive environment within the Speech Pathology discipline that fosters open communication and innovative problem solving and address any conflicts in a timely and effective manner

Key Requirements of the role:

  • Bachelor of Speech Pathology (or equivalent)
  • Eligible for membership of Speech Pathology Australia
  • Current South Australian driver’s license
  • Ability to obtain the NDIS worker screening clearance through the DHS (Department of Human Services) website prior to employment, along with a DHS Working with Children Check
  • SA Drivers Licence
