Wellways, in partnership with Latrobe Regional Hospital and Beyond Blue, has successfully won a tender to deliver The Way Back Suicide Service (TWBSS) in the Gippsland region. TWBSS is a suicide attempt after-care service that was developed by Beyond Blue to fill the gap in continuity of care for people discharged from hospital after a suicide attempt. It is designed to prevent deaths by suicide, fill an unmet need in the community and health system and be a cost-effective and sustainable model.
The role of the Support Coordinator is to participate in intake and assessment processes and support those who have been referred to Wellways from Latrobe Regional Hospital. You will provide non-clinical care and individualised support to people and their families and carers who are referred to the service for the first three months following a suicide attempt. You will be required to travel across the Gippsland region.
