About the Carer Gateway Services Program

After consultation with carers across the country, the Australian Government has expanded the funding and delivery of carer services. The result is the Integrated Carer Support Service model and Services offered to carers include face to face counselling and peer support, planning assistance and financial support packages. All services are available free of charge to those who have a caring role to someone in their life who has a disability, mental illness, chronic health condition, terminal illness, or are frail aged. Wellways provides these services to carers throughout the State of Queensland and in South West Sydney and Nepean Blue Mountains in New South Wales.

About the role

Reporting to the NCSP Business Intelligence Manager, the Data and Applications Support Analyst will provide software application support and data analysis for the National Carer Services Project. This role forms part of the larger National Carer Services Project team and will contribute to key functions of the team and is designed to:

  • Provide advice on the collection, collation, analysis, presentation and reporting of data across all areas of the National Carer Service Project
  • Enable workers to provide an effective and efficient service to Carers
  • Demonstrate effectiveness of practice through analysis of program data
  • Enable compliance with external reporting requirements
  • Provide internal reporting to support continuous quality improvement

Skills & Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in service performance and outcome reporting and evaluation
  • Appropriate IT skills including familiarity with computer operating systems and Information Systems and Business Intelligence technology
  • Knowledge and experience of all phases of software development (including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, defect management)
  • A sound understanding of outcome measurement and statistical analysis
  • Ability to problem-solve and develop innovative solutions
  • An understanding of the impact of disability, mental health issues and aged carer on individuals, their families, carers and the community
