About the Role

Skylight Programs deliver a range of recovery oriented community mental health services both in a group and 1:1 capacity, by working alongside people experiencing mental illness, family and friends who care for them, and the broader South East community.

The Limestone Coast Country Wellness Connections program provides wellbeing and mental health support to communities in Mount Gambier, Millicent, Naracoorte and surrounding suburbs through an individual and community development approach.
Support includes group programs, community workshops, 1:1 support sessions and initiatives delivered in partnership with local groups and organisations

Skylight is recruiting a 0.8fte Community Mental Health Worker to deliver and oversee group programs and 1:1 supports, manage budgets and PHN Quarterly reporting, while completing yearly KPI requirements through sharing a passion for quality and dependable support services in the South East Region. Working hours are within a standard business week/day with some after-hour requirements on occasion.

About the Offer

  • This role is classified as SACS 4 Social Community Disability Award
  • Pay point level based on prior experience and interest. Salary packaging up to $15,900 per year
  • Comprehensive training and development available

About You

The successful applicant will have:

  • Qualifications relevant to mental health and preferably group work facilitation e.g. Cert IV Mental Health, Education, Social Work or other, and/or knowledge and skills gained through work experience commensurate with group activity programs in community settings, and community mental health service
  • Sound knowledge and awareness of mental illness (ideally psychosocial disability) and related comorbidities and the associated impact on individuals, carers and the community
  • Experience in leading and/or supporting group activity programs that enhance wellbeing and mental health
  • Experience or understanding of community development principles including community capacity building and partnerships
  • Smartphone with internet capabilities
  • Current SA Drivers Licence and willingness to use own vehicle
  • DHS Working with Children check, NDIS Worker Check and First Aid
