My client is Australia and New Zealands only not-for-profit clinical trial research group within their specialist area. The organisation is committed to improving the treatment, lives and survival rates of patients with cancer through clinical trial conduct. Working collaboratively with cancer specialists both locally and internationally, they are a leader in their field.

The organisation's purpose is to improve the lives of people affected by a rare type of cancer and they are ultimately looking for someone to join their team who is equally as passionate and driven to create awareness and promote brand awareness. Job Description

  • Coordinate and advance the marketing committee, including committee administration, representative, purpose and actions.
  • Develop, implement and monitor a long term marketing strategy, including KPI's.
  • Facilitate all media relations and public relations campaigns.
  • Maintain database of Journalists and media outlets.
  • Prepare content and materials for communications across a range of media, including digital media such as the website and social media channels.
  • Develop clear, simple messaging for the production of news and communications documents, including media releases, opinion pieces, fact sheets and news items.
  • Draft, distribute, track and monitor media releases.
  • Facilitate programs that engage members and their supporters.
  • Identify funding opportunities to support elements of current and future training.

The Successful Applicant

For your application to be successful, you will have the following attributes:

  • Very strong report writing skills - annual reports, newsletters etc.
  • Experience in managing content within health and research.
  • Ability to translate and converse health, science, research language.
  • Deliver the strategy to help promote the organisations reputation and engage member and leaders.
  • Passionate about the cause and the wider healthcare/ NFP space.
  • Excellent eye for detail with the ability to quickly line up imagery to content.
  • People management skills, capable in leading by giving good clear direction and support.

You will be a confident communicator with a proven track record in building key relationships with the media, industry partners, consumer groups and philanthropic groups. You will also have recent experience working within a similar role, ideally within healthcare, science or research.
