The Brisbane Domestic Violence Service (BDVS), including the Safer Lives Mobile Service (SLMS) are free and confidential services for people in the Brisbane metropolitan area who are affected by domestic and family violence. Through a coordinated community response (CCR) model, BDVS: (1) supports women, children, family members, same sex individuals and others and (2) holds perpetrators accountable for their violence.

Micah Projects is a community based not-for-profit organisation with a vision to create justice and respond to injustice at the personal, social, and structural levels in church, government, business and society. We believe that every child and adult has the right to a home, an income, healthcare, education, safety, dignity, and connection with their community of choice. Micah Projects provides a range of support and advocacy services to individuals and families.

About the role

Micah Projects is seeking a Fixed Intake Worker for our Brisbane Domestic Violence Service for initial intake and assessment of incoming referrals, both from women and other services. This position is based at Boundary St, West End and responds in person or connects via phone to those who have experienced domestic violence.

This is a fixed-term, part time position to February 2021, with a minimum of 38 hours of work available per week and is classified under the SCHADS Award as a Level 4.
