About the role

In this role, you will have an opportunity to build and hone your skills in managing system help desk support and data security management system and programs. You will be mentored and supervised by experienced system engineers and a data/cyber security expert.

As an IT Support Officer, you will work on a compliance program and contribute towards strengthening our information security management system (ISMS) accredited to ISO 27001:2013 and the Australian Government’s Risk For Fit Framework (RFFR).   

Main responsibilities include:

  • Maintain information security management system processes, records and registers including statement of applicability, inventory register, incident management register etc. with the guidance of Team Leader, ICT and Operations, Data Security Consultant and Corporate Service Manager.
  • Provide support to internal users (remotely or face to face) and solve simple to moderately-complex problems and escalate if required in a timely manner.
  • Training users on new technologies and system processes and contributing to the development of reference materials to assist users. Complete simple/standard set-up activities for user accounts, computers, mobile devices, and other ICT systems to ensure compliance with Information Security Management System (ISMS) standards.
  • Maintain, configure and distribute the Standard Operating Environment (SOE) which includes the installation and configuration of software. Ensuring all requests are entered and updated in the Helpdesk system.
  • The salary is based on the SCHCADS Award, and generous salary packaging options are available.  The successful applicant will also benefit from ongoing support & supervision, and have access to our Employee Assistance Program.

Selection criteria essential for this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in relevant IT disciplines from an accredited institution
  • Knowledge (through work experience) in
    • Microsoft Platforms such as Microsoft Windows 10, Microsoft Office suite, Active Directory and Microsoft Office 365
    • Information system security/cyber security management
  • Proven Analytical and Problem-solving skills
  • Excellent inter-personal skills in supporting internal and external clients        
  • Excellent written and documentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Team player
  • Current Class C Driver’s License (or equivalent) recognised by NSW authorities and own vehicle.

Desirable skills

  • Prior knowledge or experience in cyber security projects or course
  • Knowledge about not-for-profit or community organisations
