About the role

Metro Assist delivers the ParentsNext Program as a subcontractor of SSI, delivering the service across six sites within the Inner West, Canterbury and Bankstown areas. The Employment Services Team Leader is responsible for all aspects of the ParentsNext program including managing service delivery, managing the team and performance management. They will supervise a number of ParentsNext Facilitators, track and monitor the team’s performance on the program, ensuring all KPI’s and SSI requirements are met at all times. 

The Employment Services Team Leader may also be responsible for developing the capacity of ParentsNext participants by working with the team to organise employment related activities and training courses, and ultimately placing clients into jobs or reach their identified goals prior to re-entering the workforce. The role is required to strictly follow processes and achieve KPIs for the ParentsNext program.

The salary is based on the SCHCADS Award. In addition, a generous tax free salary package is available.  The successful applicant will also benefit from ongoing support, training and flexible working conditions. 

Essential Selection Criteria

  • Thorough knowledge of ParentsNext Program – its aims, expected deliverables, KPI’s and operational knowledge of ESS Web;
  • Demonstrated track record of working against and achieving set KPI’s;
  • Demonstrated understanding barriers vulnerable participants face and experience of supporting these clients make progress to become work ready;
  • Thorough knowledge of family services, community services as well as English, vocational training service and employment services available in our catchment area;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Commonwealth Employment Services space and ability to articulate issues in this space amongst key stakeholders;
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and partners;
  • Demonstrated ability to provide guidance to team members to ensure that services meet funding and organisational objectives;
  • Demonstrated ability in effectively monitoring team performance, addressing underperformance issues, and correction of practices and behaviours where necessary;
  • High level of attention to detail, excellent organisational and communication skills;
  • Current driver’s license and access to a vehicle with comprehensive insurance; willingness to work across Metro Assist’s sites in Bankstown, Condell Park, Campsie, Homebush, Ashfield and Marrickville;
  • Prepared to undergo a National Police and Working with Children Check.
