An exciting opportunity exists at Merri Health to lead the implementation of the new Commonwealth Government Carer reform across the state of Victoria. Merri Health was notified in late 2019 as 1 of 10 providers nationally that were successful in our bid to deliver the Carer Gateway in both VIC1 and VIC2 regions in Victoria, together with our Consortium Partners; (Alfred Health, Ballarat Health Services, Barwon Health, Bendigo Health Care Group, Goulburn Valley Family Care Inc. and Uniting (Victorian and Tasmania) Ltd.). This role will oversee Merri Health’s responsibility as lead agency, and will work closely with our Consortium partners and a number of other sub-contractors and stakeholders across the state to effectively deliver the new Integrated Carer Support Service (ICSS) within Victoria.

Your new role

As a State Manager, Victorian Carer Gateway you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring Merri Health's contractual obligations with the Commonwealth Government for the delivery of the Carer Gateway in Victoria are met, and regularly monitored
  • With input from partners and Merri Health Manager, Carer Services, overseeing the annual development, implementation and reporting of Activity Work plan for the Victorian Carer Gateway 
  • Working closely with a range of sub-contractors across the state to ensure effective delivery of other key ICSS services such as emergency respite, after hours support etc 
  • Developing, monitoring ad progress reports for internal stakeholders and Commonwealth funding as directed by the funding guidelines/contract and the General Manager, Healthy Communities
