Come and work for an innovative mental health program, which provides Recovery-focused holistic mental health support and interventions for older adults in the community.

Stepped Care for Older Adults (SCOA), is a mental health program for adults 65 years and over (50 years and over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people) with mild to moderate mental illness, at risk of developing a mental illness, or experiencing social isolation and loneliness. The program operates throughout Melbourne’s north western region including Darebin, Moreland, Brimbank, Hume, and Melton.

Your new role

As a Mental Health Clinician, you will be responsible for:

  • Undertaking comprehensive assessments, provision of treatment and delivery of targeted time limited evidence-based psychological interventions
  • Assisting in clinical group program development, facilitation, and evaluation
  • Assisting with clinical triage by screening referrals to ensure they meet program eligibility and risk stratification
  • Coordinating care as appropriate by communicating and advocating for the consumer and their family/carer with the team and external service providers as required

  • Demonstrated experience in providing high quality clinical care to older adults with mental health concerns
  • A passion for collaboration, and working effectively within a team environment
  • A strong commitment to continuous learning
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and highly developed communication (written and verbal) skills
  • A professional background and relevant registration in Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Social Work or Nursing
