The position

Reporting to the Student Service Lead, the two Student Services Coordinators will be critical to the implementation and operationalisation of a new business unit for SSI within the aged care sector across multiple locations in NSW/ACT. The coordinators will be focused on assisting the home care trainees to achieve their goals, resolve their trainee problems and ensure consistent quality assurance standards of the trainees through supervising the caseload of the 12 Support Officers. This requires collaboration of the student services team with the other members of the unit interacting with the registered training organisations and the individual home care providers to ensure connectivity and feedback between all aspects of the student training framework.

In these roles you will enjoy advocating on behalf of others, assisting people on their trainee journey, being innovative in creating trainee support frameworks and have experience in the education support, vocational educational training and/or tertiary sector. You love to see tangible outcomes for your efforts!

Fixed term contracts are offered until March 2024; successful program delivery could see tenure extended. An immediate start is preferred. These roles are based in Parramatta, Bankstown and/or Canberra and flexible working conditions apply, such as flexible with days / hours of work.

About you

To be successful in these roles, you must demonstrate:

  • Leadership qualities, professionalism, driven, team player, collaborative, pragmatic, credible, compassionate and empathetic;
  • Superior communication capability and stakeholder management skills; well-developed listening skills;
  • Ability to build rapport with trainees;
  • A mature, enthusiastic trainee solution focused approach;
  • An innovative and creative mindset to develop a first class trainee support framework for the region;
  • Good problem solving and conflict resolution skills;
  • Comfortable working in start-up business units and within a high pressure and often ambiguous work environment;
  • Project management experience where you have successfully delivered or worked within a complex program with strict KPI deliverables with ongoing quality and quantity requirements;
  • Proven expertise delivering and monitoring contractual demands;
  • Experience in VET, tertiary and an understanding of the support care worker role from an educational context would be advantageous; and
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications; travel required.

Some understanding of working with CALD communities and a dynamic social policy environment would be advantageous, as would experience working in a highly regulated, legislative sector. If either of these roles sound like your next career challenge we want to hear from you immediately!
