About the organisation

The Mental Health Community Coalition of the ACT (MHCC ACT) is the peak body of the ACT for non-government mental health service providers. The MCHH ACT is the two-way conduit between mental health service providers and the ACT Government, providing lobbying, advocacy and policy submissions on behalf of the sector while also being the voice of the ACT and Federal Government.

About the role

An exciting opportunity as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is available to lead and influence the MHCC ACT. You must be passionate about making a difference to mental health service provision and bring a network or you have the credibility and capability to establish the critical relationships with all levels of government, the sector and providers to influence reform and practice in mental health service provision.

About you

As the new CEO you will be a charismatic and energetic, strategic leader, a strong collaborator, have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with an exceptional understanding of the intersection of the mental health sector across other critical health sectors to ensure continuity and consistency of service. Agile and flexible, you are decisive and influential with proven expertise as a change agent. It is likely that you have executive experience from within the mental health sector, community health sector, public sector, and/or an industry association.

Proven management experience is essential, as is previous experience in public engagement and advocacy. This role is based in Canberra.
