ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Transition to Mental Health Nurse Program is an integral part of Mercy Health’s Commitment to develop our future workforce and as such, we welcome Registered Nurses to join our team to provide compassionate and responsive care to people in need.

Our programs are designed to support whilst making the transition from Registered Nurse to Mental Health Nurse within a supportive and welcoming environment. The aim is to promote educational opportunities to Registered Nurses as they consolidate their theoretical and clinical skills. This is a structured program with a comprehensive orientation, paid professional development days, and clinical supervision which are supported by a dedicated learning team. Successful completion of the program will result in two-subject credits towards the Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing at RMIT or The University of Melbourne.

Upon successful completion of the program, Registered Nurses will be presented with a certificate of completion.

  • Part Time Fixed Term Contract for 52 weeks
  • 64 Hours per fortnight
  • Commencing in February 2021
  • Positions located at Werribee Mercy Hospital, Clare Moore Building

ABOUT YOU:

  • Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Minimum 12 month clinical experience in an acute setting
  • A desire to complete a Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing

Mercy Mental Health (South West Area Mental Health Service) is a public mental health service supporting people in south west metropolitan Melbourne with severe and complex mental illnesses by providing acute and community-based care. Services are available to adults through acute inpatient programs, residential rehabilitation programs and crisis and community recovery-focused treatment programs. We also deliver inpatient and community specialist perinatal mental health services to women and infants in western Victoria.
