ABOUT THE ROLE:

This exciting new Senior Pastoral Care role provides clinical leadership and person centred spiritual care. The position reports to the Pastoral Care Manager, Mercy Hospitals Victoria Ltd. and you will be part of a dynamic team in a diverse healthcare context .

  • Part Time, Permanent, .9EFT/ 68.4 hours/fortnight
  • Provides clinical leadership and expertise in the provision of spiritual care at Werribee Mercy Hospital
  • Strong emphasis on leading and conducting quality activities in a tertiary healthcare conext
  • Facilitation of supervision, clinical education and support of the Pastoral Care team
  • Collaborative engagement with Pastoral Care Manager to ensure best practice in spiritual care

About the department - The Werribee Mercy Hospital Pastoral Care service ensures holistic care by addressing the spiritual dimension of patient care. The Senior Pastoral Carer leads a small team of clinicians to respond to the diverse pastoral and spiritual needs of patients and families within an expanding healthcare context.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Spiritual Care Australia Advanced Level Membership or eligible
  • Willingness to lead a small team and ensure effective response to pastoral care needs
  • Demonstrated time management and organisational skills in a complex healthcare context
  • Enthusiastic and motivated to lead change and quality projects

Werribee Mercy Hospital is a General Public Hospital located in the rapidly growing Western suburbs of Melbourne. Our services include surgical, medical, maternity, newborn, renal dialysis, emergency, mental health, rehabilitation, aged and palliative care. The hospital has recently undergone significant expansion with the opening or our new intensive care unit, additional operating theatres and the opening of two new wards, taking the total number of beds to 298.
